Testimonials

What people are saying about Beyond the Professoriate

PhD, Humanities

"The courses and videos are tailored specifically for PhDs, which make the support grounded in awareness of the unique challenges of this transition. Maren has interviewed dozens of former academics who happily and successfully have forged new career paths. She is an expert coach and leader."

PhD, Social Science

"Every single thing I've watched so far has made me feel less like a failure, empowered to improve, and given me tools to move forward."

PhD, Humanities

"As an English PhD working at a state college for the past 6 years while unsuccessfully searching for a different position, I found your resources to be extremely helpful and practical. Naively, I had always just assumed that networking was only something people in the business world did to make connections and find work, ad I had ever heard of an informational interview until watching one of your webinars. If I hadn't found Beyond the Prof, I probably would still be working at a job that wasn't a good fit for me and feeling discouraged about my future job prospects."

PhD, Social Science

"A lot of the career advice out there falls flat for PhD holders - we need slightly different approaches in our career searches. Networking is still ultra important but it helps to think through how we approach informational interviews and present ourselves and our training. "

Our 8 week course is $250 including bonus materials valued at $148.
